Louisiana Interchurch Council Statement on Immigrant Detentions in Louisiana

CBF-LA has partnered for a number of years with the Louisiana Interchurch Council in
advocacy for the common good. The Council is a well represented cross section of denominations
with a good multi-racial mix.

Leader Rev. Dan Krutz is doing fine work on racial justice/reconciliation and prison reform. He
brought to our attention at our West Monroe Board meeting in September, the recent influx
into Louisiana prisons of 10,000 (and growing) detained immigrants. Louisiana is now the second largest holder of these detainees following California.

The Interchurch Council has issued a pastoral statement on their behalf which is posted here.
CBF-LA Coordinator Kyle Kelley urges our members and member churches to give it prayerful consideration.
